PCCEF Amicus Brief in Opposition to Plaintiffs in Baxter v Montana 2009

Robert Baxter, a terminally ill man, and his physician were plaintiffs in a lawsuit to prevent his physician from being prosecuted for providing lethal drugs to assist his suicide. Although Baxter died naturally before a court decision, the Montana Supreme Court decided that the doctors should not be prosecuted for assisting the patient’s suicide. Unresolved legal issues remain. PCCEF submitted an amicus brief opposing the plaintiff’s request, which can be read here.
