2024—HB1283 (“End of Life Options Act”), which would legalize physician- and advanced practice registered nurse-assisted suicide, passes House; Senate re-refers bill to Interim Study 17–7.
2020—HB1659, the New Hampshire “Death with Dignity Act,” which would legalize physician-assisted suicide, is referred for study and stalls in the House Judiciary Committee.
2019—HB 291 Another attempt at establishing a committee to study “end-of-life options” (i.e. assisted suicide) was amended in the Senate to a bill to study palliative care, and the bill died in the House.
2018—SB490 to establish a commission to study “end-of-life options” (i.e. assisted suicide) was defeated in the Senate Health and Human Services Committee 12–10.
2016—SB426 to establish a commission to study “end-of-life options” (i.e. assisted suicide) passes out of the Senate Health & Human Services Committee and then stalls in House Judiciary Committee.

2015—HB151 to establish a committee to study “end-of-life decisions” (i.e., assisted suicide) passes both chambers but the Governor vetoes the bill.
2014—HB1325 (“Death with Dignity Act”), which would legalize physician-assisted suicide, placed in Judiciary Committee but does not advance.
2011—HB513 (“Death with Dignity Act”), which would legalize physician-assisted suicide, was defeated 234 to 99 in the House.
2009-2010—HB304 (“Death with Dignity Act”), which would legalize physician-assisted suicide, was defeated 242-113 in the House.
1999-2000—SB44-FN (“Aid-in-Dying”), which would legalize physician-assisted suicide, was defeated in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
1998—HB1433-FN (“Aid-in-Dying”), which would legalize physician-assisted suicide, was referred for study and then died in the House Judiciary and Family Law Committee.
1995—HB339 (“Death with Dignity Act”), which would legalize physician-assisted suicide, was initially placed in the House Judiciary and Family Law Committee and defeated in the House.
