Assisted Suicide is Not Legal

2022—HB 74 (“End of Life Options Act”), which would legalize physician-assisted suicide, receives a public hearing in the House Health and Human Services Committee but does not advance. Rep. Dailey-Provost sponsored this bill and prior ones in 2020 and 2019.

2020—HB93 (“End of Life Options Act”), which would legalize physician-assisted suicide, is introduced but does not advance.

2019—HB121 (“End of Life Options Act”), which would legalize physician-assisted suicide, is introduced but does not advance.

2016-2018—Each year a bill which would legalize physician-assisted suicide (“End of Life Options Act”) is introduced but does not advance. Every bill was sponsored by Rep. Chavez-Houck. HB210—2018, HB76—2017, HB 264--2016

2015—HB 391 (“Utah Death with Dignity Act”), which would legalize physician-assisted suicide, stalls in committee. This bill was sponsored by Rep. Chavez-Houck.
