Assisted Suicide is Not Legal

2023-2024—AB781/SB739 (“Our Care, Our Options Act”), which would legalize physician-, advanced practice registered nurse-, or physician assistant-assisted suicide (any two can determine eligibility, so a physician need not be involved), failed to pass out of in 2023, carried over to 2024 where they die in committee.

2022—SB1013 (“Our Care, Our Options Act”), which would legalize physician-, advanced practice registered nurse-, or physician assistant-assisted suicide (any two can determine eligibility, so a physician need not be involved), failed to pass out of Committee on Health.

2017—AB216 /S312 would legalize physician-assisted suicide via a euphemistically-named new chapter entitled “Compassionate Choices.” Both bills fail to pass out of their respective committees.
