Assisted Suicide is Not Legal; Constitutional Amendment to Prohibit Passed

2024—House Joint Resolution 28 proposed an amendment to the State Constitution that would “protect West Virginians against medically assisted suicide.” West Virginia Amendment 1, Prohibit "Medically-Assisted Suicide, Euthanasia, and Mercy Killing" Measure, was passed by voters in the November general election.
